SUNSHINE Coast residents will have the opportunity to enjoy a range of events and activities in celebration of Seniors Week from August 19-23.
This year's program includes a number of It's in the DNA -where do you come from events across eight libraries from August 19-23.
The events will allow participants to learn about how DNA testing can extend family history, how to decipher test results and learn about the three main types of genetic genealogy tests.
Events will be held at Coolum, Maleny, Maroochydore, Beerwah, Kawana, Caloundra and Kenilworth libraries and courses are free, but registration is required..
Bigscreen Cinemas, Caloundra will host a screening of Casablanca at 10am on August 20.
Tickets to the classic film starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman are $5 and include a free choc top icecream. Registrations are essential.
As I Age interactive modular chalkboards will also return to Beerwah and Coolum libraries due to popular demand for the duration of the program.
The chalkboards provide a great opportunity for seniors to join a conversation by writing down their thoughts about the journey of ageing.
The program also includes get started classes on Facebook basics at Caloundra library on August 21, TV streaming at Maroochydore on August 21 and Pinterest basics at Coolum on August 21 and Beerwah on August 23.
