IF you love a good drop, you might be pleased to learn the National Wine Centre of Australia has just launched a new series of tours.
New tours are being offered to individuals, small and larger groups.
The tours are ideal for those who don't have time to head out to a wine region, or for people who would like to use the centre as a launchpad to discover the diversity of Australia's wine with a view to further travel.
The new tours and tasting experiences offer the opportunity for patrons to enjoy sommelier hosted tastings, or to dine in the southern hemisphere's largest open wine cellar amidst one of Australia's most diverse and comprehensive collections of wine.
All of the centre's visiting experiences can be taken in conjunction with the Australian Wine Discovery Tour, which provides a comprehensive overview of Australia's wine regions and most popular varietals.
General manager Jason Bird said the new experiences on offer took the centre experience to a new level.
"The National Wine team of expert sommeliers is on hand daily to discuss all aspects of wine with all our visitors - from the wine expert to those who've not previously experienced a tasting opportunity," he said.
Experiences on offer include;
Australian Wine Discovery Guided Tour: A twice daily hosted tour of the National Wine Centre's Wine Discovery Journey Museum which allows guests to learn about Australia's wine story and meet some colourful characters from the industry. The experience is also available as a free self guided tour.
Guided Wine Flight Experience: Be guided by one of the centre's wine educators and learn how to look, taste and feel the wine.
Sommelier Hosted Masterclass: Meet and learn from one of the centre's sommeliers. Taste premium examples from some of the country's best wine making regions.
Cellar Experience: Join one of the centre's sommeliers and head down into the southern hemisphere's largest open wine cellar to explore one of Australia's largest and finest collections.
The Ultimate Wine and Dine: Join the centre's executive chef and head sommelier for the ultimate private wining and dining experience in the open cellar./ Enjoy a four course meal with matched wines among the impressive collection of around 20,000 bottles.
Bespoke Food or Wine Experiences: Let the centre create a food and/or wine experience to suit your taste and budget, whether it be outdoors, indoors or a combination of both.
