OUT of the Ordinary Outback has marked the release of a new stay and tour package at the brand-new Broken Hill Outback Resort this October by offering a 20 per cent discount for bookings made by July 31.

The new, four-day combo deal offers a two-night outback tour in far west NSW from October 3, coupled with a night in a deluxe spa unit at the new Broken Hill Outback Resort.

Out of the Ordinary Outback opened the resort, 13km east of Broken Hill, late last year.

Surrounded by the rugged Barrier Ranges, it offers extensive camping and van sites as well as spa units.

The resort surrounds the historic and formerly abandoned Mt Gipps Hotel, which was completely restored and now features a restaurant and bar.

After spending a night at the resort, guests will join a two-night Outback Exposure tour from Broken Hill, offered by Tri State Safaris.

The guided 4WD tour leaves Broken Hill on October 3 and features a cruise on the Menindee Lakes, a tour of the former river port centre of Wilcannia, a special visit to the normally restricted Aboriginal rock art sites at Mutawintji National Park.

It also includes a night each at two properties owned by Out of the Ordinary Outback - the riverside cabins at Warrawong on the Darling and also the famous Underground Motel in the isolated opal hamlet of White Cliffs.

The subterranean motel is the largest underground accommodation in Australia.

If booked by July 31, the October two-night tour and one-night stay at the Broken Hill Outback Resort is available from $1102 per person for twin-share and $1212 for solo travellers (seniors' rates).
