OLIVIA Newton-John is urging two- and four-legged walkers and runners to join her in the annual Wellness Walk and Research Run to support people with cancer this month.
The Australian actress and singer, who is battling stage 4 breast cancer, will take part in the Melbourne event on October 6 and urges participants - and their dogs - to register now.
"With so many people impacted by cancer we are finding ways to show our support and do something positive to help," Ms Newton-John said.
"My own experience has driven me to help others going through the same journey."
The event began as a 4km walk in Ivanhoe in 2013 before evolving to a 5km walk and 10km run at La Trobe University's Bundoora campus in 2016.
This year's event will be held in the heart of Melbourne at Alexandra Gardens (palm side) on the banks of the Yarra River with the walk/run taking place around the Tan Track.
There will also be an event village with activities and entertainment.
'HUMBLED'
"This event is so special to me," said the Grammy Award-winning singer and actress, who announced her third breast cancer diagnosis last September.
"l am always humbled to see so many people joining me to support people with cancer.
"I'm excited each year to see the event grow and looking forward to this year's event at the Alexandra Gardens and walking around Melbourne's picturesque track The Tan."
Participants can choose between the 5km walk or run or 10km Tan Track run.
Funds raised at the event will support the ONJ Centre to continue making a difference.
