IF YOU'RE in Western Australia at the end of May, why not stomp, bop, swing or sway your way down to the soulful South West.
From May 31 to June 2 there's going to be a feast of live music for the seventh annual Jazz by the Bay held across the coastal towns of Dunsborough, Busselton and Margaret River.
Critically acclaimed Australian-American vocalist-composer Chris McNulty will perform at the festival for the first time.
And sought-after jazz trumpeter Ashlin Parker from New Orleans will also experience his first Jazz by the Bay bringing his high energy performance to WA fans.
The festival welcomes the return of New York-based Nerissa Campbell, who enthralled jazz lovers last year. She'll be joined by fellow WA Academy of Performing Arts graduate and award-winning Afro-Peruvian drum specialist Daniel Susnjar.
Caves Road Collective brewery, winery and distillery will become a swinging dance hall when Perth jazz, rhythm and blues performers, Adam Hall and the Velvet Playboys, hit the boards and rock the room with music from the 1940s, '50s and beyond.
At Euro Jazz Club at Hayshed Hill, soulful vocalist Holli Scott will return with her trio.
Holli will also perform at the free On the Green in Dunsborough over the Jazz by the Bay weekend with her band The Rush Hour Circus.
Joining her in the two-day program will be trumpeter Ashlin Parker and festival favourite Jessie Gordon performing with five-piece gypsy jazz band Sassafras.
Event director Cindy Wiese said visitors can expect more than 40 music, wine and gourmet food experiences over four days.
"We're a bit different to other music festivals because our region's food, wine and beauty are features of the program alongside the incredible music talent," she said.
"There's also a range of both free and ticketed events to appeal to people who love music, dancing and live performances, to the true jazz aficionados."
