VIVID Sydney, the largest festival of light, music and ideas in the Southern Hemisphere, is back bigger and brighter this May.
Now in its 11th year, the festival will take over the Harbour City from May 24 to June 15. This world famous festival invites artists from around the globe to put their best and brightest creative concepts on show, with Sydney Harbour as the centrepiece.
From the Light Walk (which will see 50 radiant works in the largest outdoor gallery of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere stretching for more than three kilometres) to the Lighting of the Sails on the Opera House and amazing light projections on the facades of the Museum of Contemporary Arts and Custom House there is plenty to see just around Circular Quay.
The harbour is the perfect spot to see the city light up onboard a range of Captain Cook Vivid Cruises during the festival.
From the ship you can see the full canvas of Vivid Sydney and avoid the pedestrian crowds on a one-hour Vivid Lights cruise.
The Vivid Lights cruises departs nightly at 6.45pm and 8pm from Barangaroo, King St Wharf No 1 with up to five additional departures at 5.45pm, 6.15pm, 7.00pm, 8.15pm and 9.15pm on peak evenings. Tickets from $25.
There is also Dinner and Drinks Cruises on board the MV Sydney 2000 displaying the official Vivid Sydney lighting installation or MV John Cadman with the #ilovesydney installation.
Guaranteed window seating is available for an additional $19 to $25.
Last year 2.25 million people flocked to Vivid Sydney - which is run by Destination NSW.
