Ticketek on Sunday had only $1499 VIP Experience Diamond tickets left for Sir Elton John's 2020 concert at Bathurst.
And information available to the Bathurst Visitor Information Centre suggested, surprisingly, there is still local accommodation available for the night of the January 22 show, despite the fact tickets have been sold for a capacity crowd of 15,000 at Carrington Park.
Bathurst mayor Graeme Hanger - who emphasised that the Bathurst Visitor Information Centre is reliant on accommodation operators contributing information to keep the centre updated - said it appeared that the city was not booked out.
Some motels are certainly sold out for the night before and of the concert, with a number of others full the night of the concert itself.
"Information available to BVIC at this stage suggests that there is still accommodation available locally," he said.
"Some motels are certainly sold out for the night before and of the concert, with a number of others full the night of the concert itself with very limited availability the previous night.
"The level of inquiries for accommodation through BVIC has been very high."

He said single night stays were outnumbering two-night stays, "though a number of businesses report being full for the night before also".
After months of behind-the-scenes preparations, the news became official early last month that Sir Elton would be coming to town.
"There was an initial flood of inquiries through BVIC when the announcement of the concert was first made public, and a second surge at the time when tickets were released for sale," he said.
"Inquiries have subsided since this initial rush, but remain steady."
Cr Hanger said BVIC "tourism partner accommodation providers" in Oberon, Blayney and Orange were all reporting they still had accommodation available on the night of the concert.
