NSW election: Your chance to tell the pollies what seniors want and need

"As you all know – Australia is ageing. Almost one third of the population of NSW is aged 50 or over. And yet as we speed towards the state election, we haven’t heard much from anyone talking about issues that are important for older people, said COTA NSW chief executive Meagan Lawson.

"COTA NSW believes that ageing in Australia should be a time of possibility and opportunity for older people – that the community should value older people and the contribution that they make. And that government policy should support them to stay engaged and actively participating in their communities.

"Last year, COTA NSW released a policy platform highlighting some of the investments the NSW Government could make to support that vision. As the NSW election fast approaches, we are keen to know where the parties stand on these issues.

"Come and hear from each of the parties about their policies in the lead up to the state election. Ask your questions. Tell them how it is for you - and what they can do to make NSW the best place for older people to live," said Ms Lawson.
