After more than four weeks of deliberating the jury in Renas Lelikan's trial has been discharged.
A Sydney jury has been discharged in the trial of a Kurdish-Australian man accused of travelling overseas to fight for a terrorist organisation.
Renas Lelikan, 40, had pleaded not guilty to engaging in hostile activities in a foreign state in the Turkey-Iraq border area in 2012, but admitted being a member of an illegal terrorist organisation, the Kurdistan Workers' Party or PKK.
Lelikan told the jury he was reporting on the Kurdish guerillas and didn't take part in terrorist warfare.
The jurors were discharged on Thursday, more than four weeks after they retired for deliberations.
The matter is next listed for mention on February 15.
