DO you think Australia could treat and prevent stroke and heart disease better than it does now?
A new survey from the Stroke Foundation and Heart Foundation is asking for ideas about the way the diseases are currently managed.
The online survey will provide the community with a voice on what is needed to improve stroke and heart disease prevention, treatment, research and support in Australia.
Stroke Foundation chief executive Sharon McGowan said the feedback provided by the survey was vital to the development of the National Heart and Stroke Action Plan.
“We want to hear from people from all walks of life, ranging from those directly touched by these diseases, to carers and health professionals,” Ms McGowan said.
“It is those who have direct experience who are best placed to know what may have the biggest impact as we strive for better outcomes for individuals and their families, the wider community and the health care system.”
The survey is part of the National Heart and Stroke Action Plan, designed to develop a coordinated response to heart disease and stroke to avoid premature deaths and ease the growing burden on the health system.
It should take no more than 15 minutes and is open until Friday 14 December, 2018.
