AUSTRALIA’S longest running birding program will be held at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat in the Gold Coast hinterland from November 11-17.

Bird Week visitors will join wildlife experts, zoologists, researchers, photographers and artists in Lamington National Park to celebrate Australia’s largest collection of sub-tropical birds, 200 species of the 230 varieties residing in the World Heritage-listed region.

Birders will get the opportunity to see species such as the rare Alberts Lyrebird, not found anywhere else on earth. Other sought-after birds include the Paradise Riflebird, Rufous Scrub, Noisy Pitta, Marbled Frogmouth and Regent Bowerbird.

Local Canungra artist and designer Tamlyn Geiger, will visit O’Reilly’s during Bird Week to share her love of fine art with guests. Tamlyn will be working on a canvas water colour bird scene over three days and invites everyone visiting O’Reilly’s, including birders and beginner artists, to sign up for the workshop called Paint My Feathers.

Music lovers should arrive a day early to enjoy Broadway By The Creek at O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards on Saturday November 10.

The Savoyards Singers are celebrating 20 years of making music across Brisbane and South East QLD and will return to where it all began back in 1999 – when a small touring singing group performed for the first time in the Ball Room at Canungra Valley Vineyards.

Guests will enjoy opera and musical theatre with performances of classics such as Impossible Dream, This Is The Moment and Luck Be A Lady Tonight. Bus transfers will be available from Brisbane and Canungra.
