WARRNAMBOOL’s Robert Lowe Senior has been recognised with a Council of the Ageing (COTA) Award at a prestigious event in Melbourne on Tuesday.
Mr Lowe, 71, was a finalist in the Victorian Senior of the Year award which was presented at Government House.
The Aboriginal elder and cultural mentor and writer has worked in his community as a relationship builder and role model and was presented with a COTA Senior Achiever Award. He and 17 other award recipients were recognised for their community work by the Governor of Victoria Linda Dessau and parliamentary secretary for human services Sharon Knight.
The awards are part of the Victorian Seniors Festival which runs throughout October.
