FOODIES will be flocking to Norfolk Island in November when a talented line-up of chefs showcase the region’s locally-grown produce.
THE Taste Norfolk Island Food Festival from November 26-30 is a chance to sample the best of the island’s fare, with dishes whipped up by a selection of chefs.
The island has become a food lover's destination, boasting more than 20 eating-out places offering locally-caught fish, succulent beef and pork, in-season fruit and vegetables picked daily and boutique products including artisan cheese and honey, as well as paddock to plate experiences.
This year Thanksgiving Day activities will be held over from the week prior so it can be celebrated during the food festival.
Norfolk Island remains one of the few places outside the US to mark this special day, which dates back to when American whalers lived on the island.
Oxley Travel has a seven-night Taste Norfolk Island package priced from $2079 per person twin share ex-Sydney on selected dates and $2039 per person twin share ex-Brisbane.
It includes return flights with Air New Zealand, transfers, seven nights' accommodation at Poinciana Cottages, seven days' car hire including insurance and access to a host of events.
