HOW DO you fancy going behind the scenes and working as an intern in one of the nation’s biggest travel companies?
Luxury Escapes has launched its 2018 Senior Intern Competition and is looking for Australians aged 60 and over who would like the chance to intern at their Melbourne HQ.
Entrants must submit a 60-second video by October 15 to be in the running.
Ten winners will be flown to Melbourne for five days of mentorship and training by the company’s team of travel experts from October 29-November 2. Accommodation will be provided.
Interns will learn how to work with the media, undertake social media masterclasses and up-skill in modern business technology, all between some yoga sessions and healthy catering.
At the end of the week, an intern (or a couple) will be selected as winner/s of a trip to San Francisco, Yosemite, South Lake Tahoe, Sonoma, Palm Springs and Los Angeles in the US, and Cabo, Mexico, with flights included.
The trip will take place from November 27-December 10 for the winner/s to test out their new-found skills.
This is the second time the company has run the internship. Victorian couple Jenny and Dennis McCarthy won the competition in 2016.
Jenny says it’s important that retirees are exposed to the modern workforce. “Luxury Escapes opened our eyes to just how much 9 to 5 jobs have changed,” she said.
