EXQUISITELY painted botanic art will be on show at an exhibition at Domain House Gallery from October 13-18.
Organised by the Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne, The Art of Botanical Illustration is a collection of approximately 170 original works by artists from Victoria, interstate and overseas, who have used a variety of techniques, media and sizes.
These botanical illustrations are scientifically accurate representations of nature with microscopic detail.
This year, many paintings go beyond the traditional ‘botanical illustration’ field of reference, by artistically demonstrating the beauty of nature throughout the lifecycle of plants.
From delicate seed pods, exquisite flowers captured at their most beautiful or the death of what was something very special and unique, The Art of Botanical Illustration is reflective of what we are often too busy to see in our daily lives.
All exhibited art is available to buy with monies raised supporting the Royal Botanic Gardens.
The exhibition will be open from 10am – 4pm daily at the gallery in Dallas Brooks Drive . Entry is free.
