POPULAR SBS TV program Insight is seeking seniors who are keen to share accounts of their dating experiences.
The forum based show – hosted by Jenny Brockie, is looking for people aged 60 plus who are currently dating or would like to find a new relationship and would like to hear about their experiences.
Producer Alex Tarney said statistics suggested online dating among the 60 and over age bracket was on the increase.
She said recent figures obtained from dating site RSVP revealed 14.5 per cent of its current members fell into the age bracket, an increase from 11.4 per cent a year ago.
Alex said Insight was interested in hearing from over 60s who were involved in any form of dating and would like to talk to people from various cultural backgrounds and of all sexual orientations.
“We’re wanting them to share their experiences – the highs and lows and how they are finding their dates,” she said.
She said the show would also like to hear from people who were “over” dating or may have recently stopped.
“We want to know what the joys and challenges are, what are people looking for and how is that different from what they were looking for when they were younger,” she said.
She said all conversations would be confidential.
She added most respondents so far had been women and the show would like to hear from more men, but was interested in hearing from anyone who felt they had something to share.
