Firefighters admit they won't have all bushfires in NSW under control before conditions worsen over the weekend.
Two homes have been lost, another damaged and 16 other buildings destroyed by bushfires in the state's south while blazes in the north also threatened residences.
Almost half of the 79 blazes still alight across NSW on Thursday evening were out of control.
NSW Rural Fire Service Inspector Ben Shepherd said favourable conditions on Friday, similar to those on Thursday, would help firefighters backburn and use other methods to contain the blazes.
"But they won't all be under control before Saturday," he told AAP.
"We'll be doing as much as we can before those winds increase on Saturday."
Westerlies reaching 40km/h are predicted for Sydney on Saturday while the chance of rain is just five per cent.
At Ulladulla, where residents evacuated when the Mount Kingiman blaze proved dangerous earlier in the week, light breezes on Friday are expected to give way to 50km/h winds on Saturday.
Two separate blazes in Ellangowan and Ramornie in northern NSW were the final fires to be downgraded from watch and act warnings to advice messages on Thursday evening.
The RFS earlier confirmed the Bemboka fire on the south coast had burnt down two homes and four outbuildings in the Bega Valley, while 11 outbuildings were lost in the Mount Kingiman blaze nearby.
One home was confirmed damaged in the North Nowra blaze.
Nine regions including Sydney have a high fire danger rating for Friday while all other areas have low-moderate ratings.
