It's the photo you can't really “unsee”.
A Port Macquarie North Shore resident last week snapped this epic photo of a diamond python strangling a rainbow lorikeet.
The python is a regular visitor to Tim and Jo Morgan's home and they’ve nicknamed it Cuddles.
Jo says the python hangs around their home and takes advantage of every opportunity to feed.
“When it rains or mist pools in our gutters, she (Cuddles) knows that birds will often splash about in the water," she said.
"But to see this photo really gives you an idea on how they feed and how good they are at trapping their prey.
"You could have reached out and touched the python, but we thought better of it.
"From what I understand, the python will come out from its intermittent hibernation on warm winter days and have a snack before going back for a sleep.
"It's been around our house for years and actually helped reduce the rat and mice population here, too."
