ELIGIBLE carers will receive the carer supplement and the child disability assistance payment from July 1.
Those eligible do not need to do anything: the payment will be made into bank accounts by July 31.
If you do not receive the payments by then and believe you are eligible, Centrelink advises to check your online account to see if the payment has been issued and to confirm your registered bank account details are correct.
The carer supplement is up to $600 for each eligible person in your care.
It is provided to recipients of:
- Carer allowance
- Carer payment
- Wife pension and carer allowance
- DVA partner service pension and carer allowance
- DVA carer service pension.
For the child disability payment, recipients must have been paid carer allowance for a child under 16 for a period that includes July 1.
Those with only a Carer Allowance Health Care Card are not eligible.
