A NEW phone range for the elderly and people who are vision and hearing impaired has been launched by VTech.
The CareLine range is designed to be easy to use for everyday conversations as well as emergency situations. Among its features are a volume booster, extra large screen, bigger buttons, extra loud ringer, talking digits, quick dial memory keys on base (photo keys), calling number display and calling number display announce.
Accessories in the range include a two-way audio doorbell, and extension ringer and an SOS emergency pendant.
There’s also the Photo cordless handset, which links to the VTech CareLine range. With four easy-to-recognise photo dial buttons it makes calling your “favourites” easier, without having to key in or remember a number or read digits. There’s also a visual ring indicator – a light at the top of the handset that flashes for incoming calls.
“People of all ages wear glasses to help with sight yet they can be reluctant to use other forms of assistance to enhance their own day-to-day lives and interactions with others for hearing assistance, yet well-designed technology can make a world of difference,” said VTech Telecommunications Australia managing director Mark Franklin.
“By incorporating simple and well-designed features like bigger buttons, larger screens and emergency support functions, we’re proud to develop a product range that genuinely improves people’s lives.
“Half of Australians have a family member or loved one with hearing issues or difficulties and so many of us make resolutions to stay in touch more. The CareLineTM range makes it easier to do so.”
