AN Australian lobby group has urged Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to “challenge” the UK government on the treatment of British pensioners in this country at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in April.
British Pensions in Australia vice-chairman Jim Tilley said the aim was to force the British government “to change its outrageous and unique frozen pension policy”.
Mr Tilley said it was high time this long-standing issue was resolved to benefit more than 240,000 British retirees in Australia, as well as many Australians who have worked in the UK.
