NESTLED IN bushland on Sydney's Northern Beaches, one of the city's newest luxury retirement villages has been designed to support ageing in place.
Marston Living Beacon Hill offers some of the largest units around, with ocean views and a pool. The development at Lady Penrhyn Drive opened in October and the first stage is almost complete, offering 12 units priced between $1.3 million and $1.5 million on a 99-year lease.
Situated ten minutes drive from Dee Why beach and a short walk from Red Hill reserve residents get stunning views of Dee Why and the lagoon.
Marston project manager Kevin Wu said the village has been designed from its foundations to support residents ageing in place.
"Units are connected to their basement double parking spaces by an elevator. They also support wheelchair access by offering wide doorways, enormous bathrooms and a lowered kitchen counter," he said.
Mr Wu said in addition, residents can enjoy a tranquil environment nestled beside pristine bushland.
"Concealed behind a protective screen of native trees, the village exudes a sense of being a secluded hillside sanctuary. A dedicated team takes care of the lush landscaping and communal facilities and are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to attend to residents 'needs."
Marston has some two and three bedroom units offering 216sqm of total floor space, including 143sq m internal floor space. At 30sq m the balcony serves as an outdoor living area and great entertaining area.
Features include stone benchtops and Miele appliances as well as multi-zone ducted air conditioning. A northern aspect ensures each unit is sun drenched with views of the ocean and the bush.
"Once Stage 2 is completed the village will boast all the comforts of a modern resort including a luxurious pool, gymnasium, sports lounge, community kitchen, library, cinema, hireable dining hall and an outdoor barbeque area," said Mr Wu.
He said more than just brick and mortar, the luxury development also provides residents with individual support when they need it."Whether a light globe needs replacing or the lawn needs to be mowed, staff members will be available to lend a hand and can also arrange for outside service providers to conduct home visits should residents require it.
"We also charge one of the lowest exit fees in the market, residents receive 100 per cent of all capital gains minus the exit fee and we are also offering a six-month buy back guarantee."
