WINDING down your working life but not ready to step away altogether? Perhaps you’re looking at other options such as starting, buying or investing in a business?
Valuable skills learned through a lifetime of work can be put to good use in a business venture.
But how do you go about testing a business idea or evaluating a business opportunity?
In September, AdelaideX, the massive open online course (MOOC) program of the University of Adelaide, will launch a free online course, Entrepreneurial Opportunities.
The course will give an overview of the entrepreneurial process, including how to identify an exceptional business opportunity.
By taking this introductory course to entrepreneurship you will better understand what is required to be a successful entrepreneur, mentor or investor.
The course has been developed by the academics and experienced entrepreneurs at the university’s Entrepreneurial Commercialisation and Innovation Centre.
Whether you’re an aspiring entrepreneur, existing business owner, a business mentor or are considering investing in or buying a business, you will find this course useful.
It’s great if you don’t know where to start with developing a business idea.
All that is required to take the course is a computer and access to the internet.
Learners enrol for no charge and take the course at a time of day that suits them. It includes a mixture of videos, quizzes and practical activities to take you through the entrepreneurial process.
It will take between two and three hours a week to complete.
