A DAY at The Zoo! Is the theme for this year’s Sand Sculpting Australia event at Frankston.
Visitors will be amazed by the life-size sand sculptures carved by 20 of the world’s finest sculptors.
Open from Boxing Day for four months on the Frankston Waterfront, the event will see 3500 tonnes of sand transformed into mesmerising sculptures of much-loved zoo animals – but with a twist!
As visitors walk through the sand pathways they will be able to recognise the sand interpretations of monkeys, giraffes, elephants, lions and meerkats, as well as orang-utans, zebras, gorillas and more.
Integrated with the sculptures will be interactive activities for children and adults. There will also be an undercover cafe to sit back, relax and enjoy light refreshments.
Tickets are $14 adults, $11concession and $10 children. They can be purchased on the day at the event ticket box with cash only.
The sculptures can be viewed daily from 10am – check website for closing times. After opening on December 26, the display runs until April 25 at 510N Nepean Highway, Frankston.
