ARE YOU over 60 and wanting to get active while meeting new people? Why not try paddleboarding or kayaking?
From swimming, nature walks, picnics and canoeing at Lake Burrendong Sport and Recreation Centre in the Central West, through to kayaking and paddleboarding at Avoca Lake on the Central Coast, each year during the NSW Seniors Festival the Office of Sport offers programs as active, adventurous or relaxing as you like.
There are Seniors Active Days at Jindabyne Sport and Recreation Centre in the Snowy Mountains on April 7 and the Active Seniors Getaway at Lake Burrendong Sport and Recreation Centre near Wellington, April 13-15.
You can try stand-up paddleboarding or kayaking at Avoca Lake on April 12; or sit back and enjoy the Hawkesbury cruise, which leaves from Broken Bay Sport and Recreation Centre on April 10.
All activities are fully supervised by qualified instructors.
