DEVONSHIRE teas and pizzas will be on offer in Sebastopol, Victoria, when Ingenia Gardens Sovereign throws open its doors.
Independent seniors looking to spring clean their retirement lifestyle can head to the village open day on September 9, 10am-2pm.
There will be free cream teas and homemade pizzas on offer, plus the chance to meet and mingle with current residents to ask what it's like renting in the seniors community.
A furnished display unit will be available to have a look at, with the Ingenia Gardens team on hand to answer any queries about rental options, community facilities and social activities on offer.
Seniors who move into the community by December 2 this year on a 12-month lease will receive $1000 free rent. They will also have the chance to go in the draw to win a year's worth of groceries, worth $2600.
Ingenia Gardens' communities across Australia have recently kicked off the 2017-18 Activate Lifestyle Program, a health and wellbeing-driven initiative designed to socially engage residents and create a strong sense of community to almost 1500 residents.
In addition to the Activate program, each community hosts resident-led social activities such as bingo, book clubs, movie afternoons, walking groups, arts and crafts, croquet and trivia to name a few.
Village Manager Sharlene Turner said the Activate Program helped improve the sense of comradery within the community as residents come together to bond over social activities - creating a sense of belonging.
"Residents look forward to taking part in these events throughout the year with, some of their favourites including Christmas in July celebrations, Melbourne Cup luncheons and Australia Day barbecues," said Ms Turner.
Ingenia Gardens Geelong in St Albans Park will also be hosting an open day on September 9, 10am-2pm while Ingenia Gardens Hertford in Sebastopol will opening its doors on October 7, 10am-2pm.
