A DEAKIN University researcher is seeking volunteers for a study exploring the lives of modern women who are childless.
Naomi Menahem, 52, is childless herself and started research in 2015 to make sense of her own experience.
"I just wanted to shine a light on a topic that is often not discussed and to tell stories that are often never told," she said.
Naomi hopes to hear from childless women who are married or in a relationship, living in and around the Sydney area, and aged from 60-75.
While the study initially sought assistance from all childless women in the area who fell into that age bracket, Naomi said the majority of women so far had been single.
She is now specifically seeking partnered women who are childless to add a new dimension to her study.
"As a woman with no children myself, I am particularly interested in this phenomenon," Naomi said.
"So much so I decided to complete a PhD to make more sense of my own experiences."
She would love to hear from anyone who fits her criteria and is interested in discussing the project.
