DID you miss out on this year’s NSW Premier's Seniors Christmas Concerts? You can now watch the magic online.
For the first time, those who couldn't attend can still sing along to their favourite carols via an edited version hosted on the NSW Seniors Festival website.
The concerts, featuring Peter Cousens, toured regional NSW in November and December with popular shows in Taree, Grafton, and Port Macquarie. It will visit Queanbeyan next Thursday, December 21.
Minister for Ageing Tanya Davies said she hoped the launch of the concert online will reach communities far and wide, beyond the hundreds of seniors who have already enjoyed the show.
“These free concerts are hugely popular and we know that some seniors were unable to travel and experience the event, so we are bringing the Christmas cheer to them,” Mrs Davies said.
Quality highlights of the regional NSW tour include Christmas classics like Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Jingle Bells, and Away in a Manger, while also spoiling audiences to a special performance from London’s West End production - The Phantom of the Opera.
“We want to hear carols echoing across the state throughout the festive season,” Mrs Davies said.
The free concerts feature performances from musical theatre stars Peter Cousens, his daughter Daisy Cousens, Ashleigh Rubenach, and Australian country music singer Darren Coggan.
“I encourage seniors and their family and friends to grab some Christmas cake and gather around their phone, tablet or smart TV to enjoy these magic musical performances,” Mrs Davies said.
