THE Diamond Valley singers will present a new spin on a classic Gilbert & Sullivan musical in its upcoming production.
The group will present The Mikado in an eight show season starting on July 7 at Warrandyte High School Theatre in Melbourne.
Moving the story a little ahead in time, the production will use a new setting of the Hotel Tittipu as the backdrop, where the manager will offer a fresh and original interpretation of the titular character.
The group has been performing choral pieces and Broadway theatre shows for more than 30 years and donates all its profits to charity.
Since its formation, it has donated more than $120,000 to three main charities: Open House in Ivanhoe, World Vision Australia and Elizabeth Children’s Home in Malawi.
