MASH star David Ogden Stiers has died, aged 75.
The actor's agent Mitchell Stubbs confirmed on Twitter Stiers died after battling bladder cancer on Twitter.
"I am very sad to report that David died this morning March 3, 2018 peacefully at his home in Newport, Oregon, after a courageous battle with bladder cancer. His talent was only surpassed by his heart," the tweet said.
Stiers was best known for playing Major Charles Winchester III on MASH, a comedy drama set in the Vietnam War.
Stiers joined the cast after Larry Linville, who played Major Frank Burns, left the series. He went on to receive two Emmy nominations for the role.
He also lent his voice to several Disney films, voicing Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast.
Tributes have poured in for the actor. MASH co-star Alan Alda, who played Hawkeye Pierce, remembered the good times he shared with Stiers.
“I remember how you skateboarded to work every day down busy LA streets. How, once you glided into Stage 9, you were Winchester to your core. How gentle you were, how kind, except when devising the most vicious practical jokes. We love you, David. Goodbye,” Alda tweeted.
