MOTORING enthusiasts in Northam, WA may enjoy life in the fast lane but that doesn’t mean they are afraid to take a look in the rearview mirror.
The town will host the annual Northam Motorsport Festival on April 7-8, which will see the town’s main streets transformed into a circuit with classic racing cars competing in time trials.
It’s a major highlight on Northam’s calendar and provides revheads with a great opportunity to see a wide variety of classic, historic racing cars up close and personal.
The event incorporates a number of different time trials and events including the Mount Ommaney hill climb on the Saturday and Flying 50 event on the Sunday.
It also features display areas, market stalls and retail outlets, a performance from a live band in Bernard Park on the Saturday and a Sunday afternoon performance by the Rum Jungle Band in the sound shell area.
Several streets will be closed on the Sunday due to the event.
