THE stars are all aligned for a new exhibition which will run at Canberra's National Portrait Gallery until early March next year.
Starstruck: Australian Movie Portraits explores portraiture that has emerged from over 100 years of Australian filmmaking.
The exhibition features 275 items, predominantly drawn from the National Film and Sound Archive's own collection.
It features portraits of some of Australian cinema's biggest stars including Hugo Weaving, Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, Toni Collette, Cate Blanchett and Paul Hogan.
NFSA curator Jennifer Coombes said Australians' fascination with cinema was still as strong as it had been 100 years ago.
"Starstruck takes you on a journey that all generations can enjoy together- whether they are revisiting the classics or discovering them for the first time, there is something for everyone," she said.
The exhibition opened on November 10 and will close on March 4, 2018. The gallery is open from 10am-5pm, 7 days a week.
