THE two-day Yarra Valley Wine & Food Festival will be set among the vines at Rochford Wines over the April 1-2 weekend.
Held in conjunction with Melbourne's Food and Wine Festival, the event showcases the valley's finest wines, produce and food, as well as locally brewed cider and beers.
This is the first time that both small boutique wineries and larger big-name Yarra Valley wineries have come together in the one domain over two days, complete with live music and entertainment.
Revellers will sample dishes from leading Melbourne and regional food trucks, while the valley's vibrant culinary community will make an appearance at the Farmers Market showcasing local producers.
The expansive green of Rochford Wines will be turned into a Festival Common where patrons can explore the many leading wine varietals in individual "wine laneways".
Fun and lively cooking demonstrations will be held over both days at Festival Central, including by contestants from My Kitchen Rules.
Local artists have been invited to exhibit their creative flair by turning a wine barrel into a whimsical work of art. There will be a people's choice competition to win the best-designed barrel.
General admission tickets are $25 per day including a commemorative wine tasting glass and an option to buy a Wine Tasting Card for $20 allowing for 10 tastings. Booking fees apply.
Visitors can buy their favourite mixed wines by the dozen on the day to be collected on their way out or delivered home.
The festival will run from 11am-9pm Saturday and 11am-5pm Sunday.
