IF Joanna Lumley’s breathless Trans-Siberian rail adventure, screened recently on ABC TV, has inspired you to follow in her footsteps, the Czars Gold train will take you there.
The train trip from Beijing to Moscow, and vice-versa, operated by German company Lernidee, offers the chance see the Russia that exists outside of the capital city.
After each day’s off-train excursion you can settle back at night to learn a little of the Russian language and partake of the long-held tradition of caviar and vodka.
The 15-day train journeys operate from May through to September.
