DAME Joan Collins has become a Godmother to a ship - and the vessel's name could well describe her life.
Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection's newest super ship, SS Joie de Vivre, set sail on its maiden voyage along the Seine following the christening ceremony in Paris.
With a length of 125 metres, rather than the typical 135 metres, the ship can conveniently dock in the heart of Paris in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower. She has two royal suites, eight junior suites, and 54 staterooms, and caters for a maximum of 128 guests.
The ship's bright, colourful and classic design and decor has been inspired by 20th century Parisian influences ranging from the golden Twenties to the free-spirited Sixties.
She joins the Uniworld fleet which features all-inclusive itineraries in Europe, as well as voyages in Russia, China, India, Egypt, Vietnam and Cambodia - 22 rivers in 26 countries.
