FANCY leaving the chill of Autumn behind and jetting off to somewhere warmer?
Tigerair Australia is supporting Whitsunday Tourism’s recovery efforts post Cyclone Debbie by offering airfares starting at $33 each way from Brisbane and $66 each way from Sydney. The sale ends midday, May 9 or until sold out.
The Whitsunday region is now up and running again.
More than 150 tourism operators descended on Whitehaven Beach recently to roll out their beach towels to spread the Welcome Back message one month after Tropical Cyclone Debbie.
According to Tourism Whitsundays chief executive Craig Turner the operators had literally downed their tools to sail and cruise their way to Queensland's iconic beach.
“It's important the world knows that most hotels have opened their doors, tours are back on the water and the sun is again shining on the Whitsundays,” he said.
Nearly 100 towels were used in the making of the Welcome Back sign, equating to approximately 144 metres of beach towel.
