Orangutan Odysseys' Last Place on Earth Challenge (August 19-September 5) and Trans Borneo Challenge (November 1-22) get up close and personal with some magnificent wildlife, while raising money for The Orangutan Project ,which supports orangutan conservation and rainforest protection.
The 18-day The Last Place on Earth Challenge will take you to the critically endangered Leuser Ecosystem in Indonesia where you will trek to see wild orangutans and other amazing wildlife, raft river rapids and climb the third-highest mountain in Sumatra. This is said to be the last place on Earth where Sumatran orangutans, elephants, tigers and rhinos still roam free side by side.
The guided expedition is $4450 per person ex Jakarta, which includes a minimum $2500 fundraising component that will be donated directly to The Orangutan Project.
The Trans Borneo Challenge will take travellers to the four regions of Kalimantan, in Borneo, Indonesia. Explorers will travel by buses, private vehicles, riverboats and canoes. There will also be bamboo rafting, walking and jungle trekking.
The trip will begin and end at orangutan rescue centres.
The cost is $4520 per person, which includes a minimum $2000 fundraising component.
