WOOLWORTHS and Australia Post have announced a partnership which will see at least 500 24/7 parcel lockers installed in supermarkets across the country to provide shoppers with convenient parcel collection and returns.
The free parcel lockers will be installed in Woolworths supermarkets across the country from this month.
"Australian shoppers spent $20 billion online last year and this Christmas is expected to be the busiest ever for online shopping - with more than 60 per cent of all Australians expected to buy online," said Ahmed Fahour, Australia post managing director & group chief executive.
"This landmark partnership with Woolworths will provide our customers with more choice and convenience for parcel delivery than ever before.
"Instead of having your parcel sent to your home address you can have it sent directly to a 24/7 parcel locker so you never need to miss a delivery again. And best of all, it's absolutely free to use."
Brad Banducci Woolworths chief executive said the lockers will extend the existing Woolworths click&collect service for customers.
"We know our customers are busier than ever and are looking for greater convenience in everything they do," said Mr Banducci.
"This partnership with Australia Post now allows them to conveniently pick up their parcel when they do their grocery shopping in-store or pick up their online order - giving them back important time in the day."
Customers simply need to add the parcel locker address to the 'to' field when checking out online, and a text or email will be sent when the parcel is available for collection.
