Reserve Forces Day Parade 2016 Tasmania will be held on July 3 at the Hobart Cenotaph. Form up at 10.30am.
It is a day to remember and thank our reserve forces from Navy, Army and Air Force, their families and employers.
This year’s theme is, "The Gallantry Continues" with special recognition of the 50th Anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan, Vietnam 1966.
Past and present reserves, regulars and descendants are invited to wear medals and parade.
Among those attending will be Lt Dave Sabben MG (ret’d) a platoon commander during the Long Tan engagement who will lay a wreath at the Cenotaph in remembrance. There will be other guests representing gallantry in other actions. Members of the NZ Artillery Association, many of whom participated in “Long Tan”, have been invited.
The salute will be taken by former Governor General Major General Michael.
After the event marchers are invited to the Hope and Anchor Tavern 65 Macquarie St, Hobart.
