ORGANISATIONS are needed to help preserve Australia's wartime legacy.
The new War Heritage Oral History Training Program needs Victorian ex-service organisations to take part in recording veterans' tales.
It is designed to ensure their stories aren't lost or forgotten by future generations.
The program trains organisations to document the veterans' bravery and military contributions, equipping them with skills such as research and interview skills and how to use professional recording equipment.
Acting Veterans Minister Philip Dalidakis said the program will help communities to relive the remarkable contributions made by veterans.
"We have a proud wartime legacy of Victorians serving and sacrificing in both wartime and conflicts across the ages," he said.
"There are treasured tales waiting to be told all over Victoria."
Applications close November 7.
