A SERIES of community information seminars on changes to the laws affecting residents and operators of NSW residential parks start today in Gosford.
The seminars are run by NSW Fair Trading and will cover key reforms to the new Residential (Land Lease) Communities legislation that comes into effect from November 1.
The first stage of the information program runs until October 29 and will target 14 key locations that have a high density of parks and residents.
The seminars will then continue as part of Fair Trading's regular My Place programs held in other parts of the state.
Fair Trading Commissioner Rod Stowe said the majority of the 486 land lease community parks in NSW were situated along the east coast and housed around 33,700 residents.
"The Residential Communities Information Seminars are an opportunity for both residents and operators to understand what the key reforms mean to them," he said.
The program is designed to provide targeted information with separate seminars being offered for operators and residents in most locations.
Relevant industry associations will also attend to share information.
Separate operator and a resident seminars will be held in Gosford, Belmont, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Tweed Heads, Barrack Heights, Unanderra, Forster, Ballina, Nelson Bay, Bomaderry and Sussex Inlet.
Combined operator and resident seminars will be held in Orange and Dubbo.
