BRISBANE'S landmarks are turning purple this week as Queensland celebrates Seniors Week.
On Monday night Story Bridge was bathed in purple to mark the contribution seniors make in their communities.
Brisbane City Hall also turned purple on Sunday night.
Seniors Minister Coralee O'Rourke said she was delighted to see such a beautiful and public display of support for the week.
"Over the coming days, a number of events and activities will be held right across Queensland to mark Seniors Week and celebrate the contribution of older Queenslanders," she said.
"From river cruises, information days and expos, tours, music, dancing, forums and exhibitions there are events and activities for everyone to enjoy.
"I would encourage all Queenslanders to join in some of the hundreds of celebrations on offer right across the state."
Queensland Seniors Week 2017 runs from 19 - 27 August. This year's theme is 'a Queensland for ALL ages'.
