Time to tune up that voice, slip on the dancing shoes or pull a rabbit out of a hat... the search is on for our next Golden Idol. And with this year’s grand final to be featured during Seniors Week there’s sure to be plenty of fans to cheer on contestants. The call for talented seniors (over-55) has gone out and anyone interested in entering the Gold Coast’s favourite talent quest needs to get their entries in by July 9. The Golden Idol Talent Search will be held at Surfers Paradise RSL, with heats on July 18 and 25, and August 1. Ambassador for Ageing, actor and comedian Noeline Brown will attend the grand final on August 15, along with 2009 Golden Idol winner Duke Bannister. Entry forms can be picked up from all major Gold Coast City Council libraries, selected Gold Coast RSL and senior citizens’ clubs, Volunteering Gold Coast head office, or can be downloaded on www.vgcvs.org.au/artsent Golden Idol Talent Search, phone June Eadie at Volunteering Gold Coast 5526-2811, email performance@vgcvs.org.au |
