THE exceptional contributions of members of the aged care and disability sectors have been recognised at the inaugural Central Coast Aged Care and Disability Achievement Awards.
Organised by Seasons Network, the awards recognised people and organisations contributing to improving the quality of life for older people.
Thirty-one nominations were received in seven categories.
“All nominees are finding innovative ways to improve the lives of their clients and share a common steadfast commitment to providing the highest quality of care,” said Seasons operations manager Majenta Ritchie. “From providing outstanding leadership to collaboratively finding solutions to industry-wide challenges, our winners are trailblazers in their field.”
Living Care Home Services’ Jodeane Anderson was named Manager of the Year. Judges described Ms Anderson as a “believer in challenging elderly consumers to do more than society expects of them” and as someone with a “big heart”.
Home Care Service of the Year award went to Home Instead Senior Care, while Home Care Employee of the Year is Barbaranne Chalmers of DelphisAustralia.
Adssi Home Living Australia’s cooking and nutrition program for elderly residents took out the Innovative Project of the Year, while Delphis Australia volunteer Shirley Peck was awarded Volunteer of the Year.
In the disability sector, awards went to Central Coast Living Options (Service of the Year) and private contractor Alexandra Marr (Employee of the Year).
