VIRTUAL reality technology will be bringing a new retirement village development to life on NSW's Lake Macquarie next month.
Visitors keen to experience what the new 109-villa Cooranbong Gardens will look like can simply pop on a pair of hi-tech goggles for a virtual tour of the boutique retirement community, situated on the border of Lake Macquarie and the NSW Central Coast.
With construction on the first 13 villas due to start in July, goggle-wearers will get to see the architecturally-designed villas and facility in their rural setting complete with private lake.
The pet-friendly village will feature two- and three-bedroom luxury villas all with ducted air conditioning. At present 71 villas have been DA-approved, with plans in place for a further 38 bringing the total to 109.
Facilities will include a heated pool, gym and sauna as well as a bowls green and men's shed.
There will also be a residents' community centre with kitchen, library, bar and fireplace as well as barbecue and picnic areas.
Five stages are expected to be completed by March 2019, with homes now selling off the plan.
For anyone keen to find out more the village, which is close to public transport and the M1 Pacific Motorway, is having an open day on June 17, 10am-2pm.
There will be entertainment, a barbecue and a chance to find out more about what living at the community will be like.
