HOSPITAL patients in Albury Wodonga were "wrapped" with a donation of handmade blankets recently.
Members of Ingenia Lifestyle Albury's craft group presented the handmade crochet knee rugs to the nurse unit manager at the Albury Wodonga Health medical ward.
Residents at the over-55s lifestyle community spent hours designing and knitting a range of hand-stitched rugs for patients undergoing treatment.
More specially designed rugs will also be given to people with dementia.
The individual sensory blankets feature buckles, zips and pockets to help keep hands busy and to create a calming effect.
Residents in the group hope to continue their work and donate more of their handmade goods to charitable causes.
Ingenia Lifestyle, previously Active Lifestyle Estates, was formed in 2013.
More than 2500 seniors call an Ingenia Lifestyle community home and the Albury site - with a new community centre as well as a vegetable garden and pool - is one of 29 locations throughout Victoria, NSW and Queensland.
