SNAKES, lizards and other native animals will be taking part in a family health day with a difference on the NSW Central Coast next month.
Now in its fourth year, The Health Connection is a free family wellbeing event held at Lendlease's Brentwood Village in Kincumber on June 17.
Reptiles from Taronga Zoo will be on display as part of the activities lined up for the annual open day, which also include the Art Tank craft workshop, a magician, the Big Yellow Bus kids gym and circus games.
Health practitioners will also be there on the day offering interactive health checks for the whole family, from little ones to grandparents, including diabetes testing, and checks for hearing, spinal health and podiatry.
Quiet spaces will also be available where visitors can sample natural therapies treatment, live yoga, meditation or movement classes.
The event is a joint initiative between the Lendlease retirement village and nearby Kincumber Neighbourhood Centre.
"It is always a great atmosphere," said neighbourhood centre manager Colette Baron.
"It's a beautiful venue with superb gardens and a fabulous auditorium that can accommodate the whole event in the case of rain, so it's an all-weather, as well as an all-ages event."
Reflexologists, massage therapists and naturopaths will be just some of the wellness practitioners there on the day and there will also be the chance to find out about orthopaedics, herbal remedies, organic skincare, yoga and meditation.
