THERE’S nothing like a bracing wintertime walk to let you know you’re alive. So why not get the blood pumping by joining a Walk in the Park, an opportunity to celebrate and support people with Parkinson’s disease?
The leisurely, non-competitive walk (2km or 4km) takes place along the banks of the Yarra River on August 28 and brings together people from all walks of life, from those with the disease to their family, friends, carers and health professionals.
Every dollar raised helps support people with Parkinson’s. In addition to the walk, there will be a range of fun family activities to entertain young and old alike.
Even the pet pooch is invited.
The walk begins at Federation Square at 11am.
Registration is $45 adults ($35 early bird – available until June 30); senior/concession $30 ($25 early bird); children $15 ($10 early bird); dogs $10.
You can register online or on the day (from 8.30am, different prices apply). Walks are also being held at places including Mildura, Warrnambool, Bendigo and Albury/Wodonga.
