COULD singing help improve the lives of people with Parkinson's disease?
That's what Queensland Conservatorium Research Centre hopes to find as it assembles two community singing groups comprising people with Parkinson's and their carers.
The researchers are trialling the Canterbury Cantata Trust program's Sing to Beat Parkinson's program, with weekly singing groups beginning this month at Brisbane's South Bank and North Lakes.
The project will evaluate the benefits of the specially developed singing program on participants' quality of life, wellbeing and communication.
The six-month research program will culminate in a public performance in November.
