Latest figures from the Australian Tax Office reveal that $11.7 billion is sitting in lost super accounts, and the ATO is encouraging people to reconnect with their super using its online services.

Qld: $49 million is waiting to be claimed in the 4740 postcode, which covers Mackay and surrounds.
NSW: $37 million is yet to be claimed by residents of the 2170 postcode, covering Liverpool and surrounding suburbs.
WA: $30 million is yet to be claimed by residents of the 6210 postcode, covering Halls Head and surrounds.
ACT: $26 million is waiting to be claimed by residents in the 2615 postcode, which covers Charnwood and surrounding suburbs.
Tas: $19 million is waiting to be claimed in the 7250 postcode covering Launceston and surrounds.
SA: $16 million is to be claimed in the 5108 postcode, which covers Paralowie and surrounds.
Deputy Commissioner James O'Halloran said super was considered lost when a fund was unable to contact the individual and hadn't received a contribution to an account for five years.
